Welcome
The smorgasbord of life has many experiences on offer and the choice is ours. I have always loved jumping into life and enjoying a wealth of experiences. Experience is our natural teacher. We learn more from our experiences than from anything else. Information, whether through intellect, previous experiences or intuition, is essential to help us choose which experiences to embrace. We are always experiencing something on the inside and on the outside. We can choose which experiences we most want to have.
Life experiences often present problems. You know what it’s like to struggle with a problem. Either it creeps up when we are not looking, building tension until that tension becomes a big pain in the butt, or it bursts into our life unannounced, invading and sapping any feelings of peace we previously had.
If we only address the surface of problems, more will keep coming as soon as the previous ones get resolved. Why? – because of some aspects of our unconscious makeup. These might be beliefs we act out but are unaware of; or habitual ways of interacting, reacting and acting that attract problematic patterns. Our experiences come from our perception and our perception comes from our unconscious world as well as our conscious world. If we can make more of our inner life conscious we can make powerful changes to our perception. If we make powerful changes to our perception we change the outer experiences we have in life.
Start with the problems you are experiencing because they are the fodder for creating new ways of addressing your perception unconscious and conscious. Problems come in all shapes and sizes: from marriage breakdown to deep loneliness; from parenting pains to chronic physical pain; accidents or other traumatic events; financial struggle or financial disaster. No matter what the issues, every problem brings the same unwelcome pals.
What are these problem pals?
They are a range of emotions that make life miserable: like sadness, depression, worry, anxiety, fear, hurt, loss and insecurity. What we do with these emotions varies: burying our feelings, reacting badly to loved ones, acting in ways that hurt us and others, addictions of various kinds. Basically these are responses which are intended to stop the pain but which do not usually fix the underlying problem. What we do or don’t do with the underlying causes of these problems, and their pals, determines whether we keep creating them or move on to greener pastures.
By learning and applying practices that allow us to take more emotional, mental and physical responsibility for ourselves we can dramatically change the quality of our busy lives. We can mend relationships, improve our health and feel more motivated every day. We can even lose weight, earn more money, work less and enjoy more leisure!
May you enjoy more holistic happiness every day.
